Facility management Management systems Requirements with guidance for use
ISO 41001 and the vocabulary published as ISO 41011 is a Facilities Management Standard developed by the International Organizational Standards (ISO) and published 2018. It was led by Stan Mitchell, representing the BSI, and represented by 42 countries.
It forms part of the ISO 41000 family of standards. It was written by representatives from the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
The standard focuses on an integrated facility management system that is set up, implemented, maintained to improve quality, productivity and financial performance; enhance sustainability and reduce negative environmental impact.
Application of the standard helps develop functional and motivating work environments, maintain regulatory compliance and provide safe workplaces. Moreover, it supports the organisations with optimization of life cycle performance and costs, improvement of resilience and relevance, and organizational identity. The standard serves as a framework for companies to demonstrate a clear and uniform approach for the design, implementation, maintenance and operation of a facility management system. [1], [2]
